Enrollment Information
Enrollment Information
You may request an application form from the local high school counselor. Both you and your school counselor must complete the application. The signature of a parent(s) or guardian is also required.
All necessary information must be submitted to Barry Tech by May 1st to receive a course assignment before the end of the school year and an invitation to participate in a summer orientation program. The Barry Tech Pupil Personnel Services staff may consider applications received after May 1st, throughout the summer, and at the beginning of the school year. However, your first choice course may be unavailable because of class size limitations.
If you change your mind about attending Barry Tech before school begins, you must immediately notify the Barry Tech Central Registration Office (396-2378). If you decide to change a course selection during the summer you must notify the Central Registration Office. If you need to modify career plans, arrangements can be made to meet with a Barry Tech counselor or school psychologist.
Admission and Placement
Every student application packet is read thoroughly by a committee which consists of the Barry Tech Pupil Personnel Services staff. The process involves a comprehensive review of the student's school records including attendance, transcripts, report cards, test scores, comments from school personnel, and a health record. The admissions process is a cooperative effort which involves the high school counselor and Barry Tech staff working together to provide students with appropriate course placement.
