About This Course

Computer Game Design Skills is the perfect blend of core content and exciting student engagement! This is a diverse field that benefits from the unique skills and experiences every individual has achieved. Students will discover where their technology, creativity, and leadership skills fit best within the gaming, creative arts, and programming industries. Computer game design utilizes a simulated design studio team setting to develop skills needed for success in the areas of personal interaction and team building alongside technology hard skills. Students will design and build more than a dozen video games using industry standard software, 3D printers, drawing tablets, game controllers, and rapid program prototyping utilities and standard business applications.

Students who complete this course will be able to plan and manage a computer design project, implement programming for user interactions, develop computer art and animations, understand computer programming, create storyboards and character maps, design and build video games, employ strategies and tactics in a virtual world, create marketing plans, implement computer programming, and construct artificial intelligence in a video game and digital simulation model.
